PROJECTSIntroduction [Biosketch]
- Dr. Koushik Guha received his B.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering in 2005 from Techno India, Salt Lake, Kolkata, under West Bengal University of Technology, India, and his M.Tech. degree in Electronics & Communication Engineering (RF & Microwaves) in 2007 from Burdwan University, West Bengal, India. He obtained his PhD from NIT Silchar in 2016 with a doctoral thesis titled “Design and Modeling of RF MEMS Shunt Switch”.
- He is currently the Head of the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering and an Associate Professor at the National Institute of Technology Silchar, Assam. A distinguished academic and researcher in MEMS/NEMS, medical instrumentation, and smart sensing systems, he has received the Distinguished Faculty Award 2021, the IETE R. S. Khandpur Award 2022, and the ISSS–IISc Young Scientist Award 2021 and many more.
- Dr. Guha has successfully implemented and executed several nationally and internationally funded research projects and is presently leading multiple ongoing projects. Under the MeitY-funded Chip-to-Startup (C2S) programme, he co-developed a neural amplifier front-end IC for brain–machine interface applications, recognised among the top 20 “Made in India” chips unveiled by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, at SEMICON India 2025 conference. He has published over 200 papers in reputed international journals and conferences, authored more than 45 book chapters and four books, and holds several patents. A Senior Member of IEEE and INAE and Fellow of IETE, he serves as Associate Editor of Microsystem Technologies (Springer Nature), Editor of the IETE Journal of Research (Taylor & Francis), and is also a member of the Editorial Board of Scientific Reports (Springer Nature). He has guided seven PhD scholars and currently supervises eight doctoral researchers, with research interests spanning Bio-MEMS, RF MEMS, energy harvesting, IoT sensors, and VLSI design.
