- Dr. Paramita Sarkar is an Assistant Professor Grade-II in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar). She received her Ph.D. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from NIT Silchar. She obtained her M.Tech. in Nanotechnology from VIT University, Vellore, and her B.E. in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Tripura Institute of Technology.
- Dr. Sarkar has 6+ years of teaching experience in academia, having served at reputed engineering institutions before joining NIT Silchar in January 2026. She is actively involved in teaching, research, and academic mentoring, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary research aimed at developing next-generation materials and devices for sustainable electronic and optoelectronic applications.
- Her research interests encompass nanotechnology and nanoelectronics, semiconductor devices, optoelectronics, perovskite-based solar cells and photodetectors, materials science, advanced electronic and energy materials, analog and digital VLSI design, and circuit optimization. She has authored 19 journal publications, 6+ conference papers, 3 book chapters and is the inventor of one granted patent. She also serves as a reviewer for several reputed international journals in the areas of nanotechnology, semiconductor devices, materials science, and applied physics. She is also serving as the co-principal investigator (Co-PI) of an ongoing AICTE Research Promotion Scheme (RPS) project funded by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
