- B. Tech (University of Burdwan), M. E. (Jadavpur University), Ph. D (NIT Silchar).
- I am Dr. Wasim Arif, an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT Silchar, with a strong passion for teaching, research, and student mentorship. I graduated First Class First in ECE from the University of Burdwan, followed by my M.E. from Jadavpur University and Ph.D. from NIT Silchar. I have published over 100 research articles, with work supported by agencies like MeitY, DST, DHE, and NRDC, and collaborations including IIT Kharagpur. I have supervised 08 Ph.D. scholars and currently 05 are ongoing. I am actively engaged in mentoring student innovators—our teams have won three Gold Medals at the Smart India Hackathons. I am working on creating an Innovation and Entreprenurship eco system in the institute and received a project to establish an inclusive Technology Business Incubator at NIT Silchar under the aegis of DST NIDHI. An IEEE Senior Member with leadership roles in Kolkata chapters (IEEE ComSoc and IEEE TEMS), I also enjoy cricket and badminton and value engaging with students while fostering a vibrant academic environment.
