Dr. Banani Basu obtained her Bachelor of Technology from Jalpaiguri Govt. Engineering College in 2004. She obtained her Masters of Technology from WB University of Technology in 2008 and Ph.D. from National Institute of Technology Durgapur in 2012.

She joined National Institute of Technology (NIT), Silchar on 3 November 2014.

She is a Senior Member of IEEE.

Her research interests are Antenna Design, Machine Learning and Metamaterial-Inspired Structures.
